5 Tips to Energize Your Day

Updated: Mar 29, 2023

Do your mornings start out a bit crazy?

This sets your day up to feel stressed and overwhelmed.

Mornings can be the craziest and most chaotic part of your day.

When we start our day in crazy and chaos then the rest of our day may be much the same.

What if you started your day with positive energy? Feeling energized. What might happen?

When you wake up each day with passion and purpose you join the small percentage of high achievers who are living their dreams. Many CEO's, Olympic Athletes, Celebrities and Ex-Military rise early. A few older examples of early risers are Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein & Aristotle.

Here are tips to implement in your morning to live your day with passion, purpose and feeling energized.

Listen in or read on below for 5 tips (and a bonus tip - not in the video) you can implement to energize your day!

Gratitude

Gratitude will help set the tone for a more joyful day. How can you feel mad or upset when you are thanking God for all that has been provided to you?

It helps you see that there really is a lot of good things in your life even when it feels like life is closing in on you and nothing right is happening.

Write in a journal or on your phone at least one thing you are grateful for each morning. You can expand on that as well.

You are setting the intention for your day. You are dwelling on all that is good in your life.

You are choosing to create a joyful day.

That is creating on-purpose living!

Affirmations

When you wake up decide who you want to be for the day with affirmations. If negative thoughts creep in you have the power to choose a different way of thinking and believing.

One statistic I read from the Cleveland Clinic said we have 60,000 thoughts per day. 90% are repeating thoughts. Approximately 80% of our repeating thoughts are negative.

We have over 43,000 negative thoughts per day.

With that many negative thoughts what will you choose instead? What will you choose to believe instead? Create an affirmation for that.

Silence

Our lives are noisy, fast paced and overstimulating. When you are purposefully silent you can reduce your stress levels, create calm, clarity and peace of mind that will allow you to stay focused on what’s most important in your life.

This is a great way to reduce your stress levels first thing in the morning.

During this time of silence meditate, pray, reflect, deep breathe or even practice gratitude and affirmations. You can do one of those things or all of them. There is no right way. It is very individual and you can do something different each day.

Read

Reading is the fast path to creating level 10 success in any area of your life.

There is a book on everything!! Find something that interests you.

This can also be a time to read the Bible, Torah or any other spiritual material. It is a time to spend on self-improvement and self-development.

Rereading books is also a good practice because you will see it with fresh eyes the 2nd or even 3rd time.

We are not talking about reading chapters and chapters during this time unless you want to. If you only read one paragraph or one page that is great! Start with what is manageable for you. If you were to read 5 pages a day that would be 1,825 pages in a year. Wow!!

Exercise

Moving your body in the morning should be a part of everyone’s day.

Exercising for even a few minutes every morning significantly increases your energy, enhances your health, improves self-confidence and emotional wellbeing, and enables you to think better and focus longer.

This is another way to reduce stress first thing in the morning!

Exercising every morning even for a short burst will get your heart rate up, your blood flowing and fill your lungs with oxygen.

Even if you exercise later in the day incorporate a short burst of exercise in the morning to increase your energy and create a positive outlook for the day.

BONUS! I thought I would add another one. It is a super powerful technique that I use myself and help my clients with too.

Visualize

Visualize what you really want. This could be how you want your upcoming day to go or a bigger goal or dream.

Close your eyes and go through each of your senses. See, hear, feel, smell and taste every detail. Really feel into who you want to be and what you want to do to achieve your goal or dream. Also see your self celebrating when you accomplish what you are visualizing.

When we tell our brains what we really want it starts to try to figure out how to create it.

Many athletes and actors will practice visualization before an event or filming. We know Michael Phelps won a lot of Gold Medals but did you know he also used visualization techniques? There are also videos of Jim Carey on the Oprah show telling how he visualized what he wanted before making it big.

Yes, there are six different things you could add into your day. As with anything I suggest taking baby steps. Maybe try each thing for just a minute. That is only six minutes added to your morning.

Many of the tips will help you with eliminating stress and getting centered before your day begins.

You can always expand the amount of time you want to spend doing each as you create your winning morning routine.

What if it made a big difference in your energy for the day?

Make sure you are not still in your bed when you do these practices. It’s too easy to fall back asleep :D
