Let’s talk about my #1 Tip to Reduce Your Inflammation, health related issues to watch for, benefits and some easy ways to implement my tip into your busy life.

Hear me out on this one.

You may think you already have this dialed in but up to 75% of people don’t and it may be the easiest change to make.

Make sure you are drinking at least 50-60% of your body weight in ounces of water each day.

Listen in or read on below to learn my #1 Tip to Reduce Your Inflammation.

Why?

Multiple studies report about 75% of adults in the US suffer from chronic dehydration.

About 60% of an adult human body is water.

A drop in body water by just 1% can negatively impact your cognitive ability and mood.

When you feel thirsty which occurs at about a 2% loss of total body water your body is already in a state of dehydration.

Here are some health-related issues linked to dehydration:

  • fatigue

  • dizziness

  • concentration difficulties

  • dry skin

  • muscle cramps

  • bad breath

  • mood swings

  • body aches

  • headaches

There are more!

A Couple Benefits!

Detoxing.

It’s all the rage!

The easiest and cheapest way to detox your body is to drink more clean filtered water.

This helps your body remove built up toxins in your cells.

Yes, the water can go all the way into your cells to help clean out the toxins.

When you are drinking enough water, it will then help flush those toxins out of your body.

Weight Loss!

This alone may help motivate many of you to drink enough water.

The detoxing aspect of drinking water will help with weight loss.

But wait there’s more, sorry no ginsu knives with this one, only weight loss secrets.

Drinking water can help you feel full, not hungry and also increase your metabolism which could increase the number of calories you burn in a day.

Try drinking 16oz of water about a 1/2 hour before eating. This will make you feel more full so that you may eat less.

Add Sea Salt to Your Water.

As you increase the amount of water you are drinking you also may flush out sodium and minerals from your body.

Adding natural sea salt to your diet is one of the easiest ways to ensure that you get enough sodium and other essential minerals, especially if you are active.

Adequate salt intake can help you to stay hydrated, prevent muscle cramps, support a healthy nervous system and a healthy metabolism, and even help you sleep better.

And, while a diet too low in salt may reduce libido in both sexes, increase erectile dysfunction in men, and reduce a woman's likelihood of getting pregnant, adequate salt intake may support reproduction.

Best source is Sea Salt. Celtic Sea Salt is also really good.

Himalayan sea salt is very close to white table salt. So not as good.

Are you still using white table salt (like the one with the umbrella girl - Morton)? Use it for cleaning or throw it out.

Also, most processed foods and restaurants use white salt. Not sea salt. White salt is very detrimental for your health!

Add a pinch of sea salt! Just a pinch to each glass of water.

This helps the water get into your cells plus it gives you important minerals your body needs.

A Few Tips to Help You Drink More Water.

Taste.

Face it if your water doesn’t taste good, you’re not going to drink it.

Make sure your water is filtered. It will have a cleaner crisper taste. I use a reverse osmosis system.

Add a little real fruit, veggies or herbs such as lemon, lime, strawberry, grapefruit, cucumber, basil …

Be careful of the water you buy that is already flavored or has sweeteners in it!!

Many may say natural flavors. Natural flavors are not NATURAL!

The manufacturer can hide all kind of toxic ingredients under the label Natural.

It’s best to use real water and real fruit, herbs or veggies to flavor.

Organic would be best as they are sitting in your water all day and you don’t want pesticides flavoring your water.

Knowing what is in your beverages and foods really matters for your health.

Take Your Water Everywhere With You.

Be intentional! Take your water with you everywhere.

Having extra bottles of water on hand will give you a better chance of drinking more water.

Put your bottles in a cooler on ice if you live in a warm climate especially if the bottles are plastic.

Your Water Bottle Matters.

Preferably use a glass or a food grade stainless steel (18/8) or glass water bottle.

Honestly both options will make your water taste better and make you want to drink more.

If you have a metal water bottle and the water still doesn’t taste good it may not be 18/8 stainless steel.

If you don’t want to carry a glass bottle and like stainless steel invest in an 18/8 stainless steel water bottle.

Plastic cups, glasses or water bottles are not a great choice as the plastic can leach into the water and make it taste bad. The plastic (even BPA-free) is not good for you.

Plastic may cause hormone disruption. It will also affect your endocrine system (which controls most systems in your body) or increase the risk of endometriosis and breast cancer.

It’s just best to limit the use of plastic in your life period!

Invest in a good water bottle! Your health is priceless

Before you head to the doctor maybe check to see if you are drinking enough water 💙 It’s not about being perfect!

It’s not about going from drinking 2 cups a day to 1/2 gallon in a day.

The goal is to get to 50-60% of your body weight in Oz per day.

Baby steps! Up the amount you drink by a cup each day until you get to your goal.
